This series of lessons is designed for kids 13 to 17 years old who want to work on skills and competencies to ski or ride in Delirium Dive.
Students must be skiing or riding at a black and double black ability level in order to register for the program. Groups will have assessments on their skiing and riding ability over the first two weekends to ensure they are at the skill level required for the program. Ski and Snowboard competency checklists as well as Beacon Search training where students must reach a certain skill level at finding and retrieving buried beacons in our beacon basin area must be completed with the Instructor before entering Delirium Dive. A Beacon, Shovel and Probe must be owned and brought on the first day of the program. Groups will not enter the Wild West Terrain and certain areas of Delirium Dive will be restricted entry to the groups. If your child does not meet the required skill level for the Big Mountain Freeriders Groups they will be placed in an alternate group.
The programs run each Saturday or Sunday for a period of 10 weeks with full day lessons from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Lunch is NOT included but can be added on.
*Note: if you do not purchase the lunch add on you will need to pick your child up at 12:00 pm and bring them back to the meeting place at 1:00 pm – they will not be able to sit with the group during the lunch break; there will not be a seat reserved for them.
10 Saturdays or Sundays, starting January 3rd or 4th, 2015 to March 14th or 15th, 2015 (excluding Family Day weekend Feb. 14th/15th, 2015).
Due to unforeseen circumstances; avalanche control, snow quality & group competency levels; entry into Delirium Dive may not be possible on all or any weekends of the programs – there is no guarantee that groups will reach the competency level to enter “The Dive”.
Cancellations after December 20th 2014 will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee, Registration closes on December 20th, 2014.
